We are always keen to welcome new clients as well as our regular auction addicts, so if you have any questions about how to buy, or about the lots themselves, we are happy to give friendly, honest advice - just ask. To view our current catalogue click here.
Before placing a bid:
Register on our website before the auction.
We are not able to specify the condition of any lot within the catalogue description, but our valuers are available during the week prior to the auction to answer any questions about any lots and we can email close up images of any wear/damage upon request, provided requests are made before the day of the auction.
Bidding online:
You can leave a commission bid in advance via this website by 9.30am on auction day.
You can also register to listen, watch and bid live as the auction takes place - please note this has an additional buyer's premium of 3.6% inc VAT.
You can also bid live on the-saleroom.com. Bids are subject to an additional 5.94% inc VAT.
Commission Bids:
If you are unable to attend on auction day, you can leave commission bids via your online account on our website. We will execute your bids as cheaply as possible, taking into account any other bids and/or reserves. To place a commission bid, make sure to register/create an account, go to the Catalogues page, select the current catalogue and the lot you wish to bid on, click on the lot then enter your bid. You can then amend/cancel your bids on your account page.
Telephone Bids:
It is possible to bid over the telephone on selected lots, of estimated value over £500. All telephone bids must be arranged in advance of auction day and are strictly at our discretion.
Buyer’s Premium:
All bids are subject to buyer’s premium of 27% inc VAT. (All bids submitted via live bidding incur an additional fee of 3.6% inc VAT and bids via the-saleroom.com incur an additional fee of 5.94% inc VAT).
Payment and Collection:
All items must be paid for by 5pm on the following Monday. (Tuesday following a bank holiday) and items must be collected by prior appointment by the Friday at the latest.
Payment can be made by card or by bank transfer. We do not accept cash.
Terms and Conditions:
Please note that a sale by public auction is not a consumer sale for the purposes of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 as replaced by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Buyers must inspect items or request a condition report if not attending, before placing a bid.
