About us

Mander Auctioneers was established in the 1970s, previously trading in Clare as Dyson and Son.  With twenty-five years of experience as a valuer in both local and international auction houses, auctioneer James Mander took over the business. In 2013 the auction moved to a larger four acre site at Newton on the outskirts of Sudbury, which has over 7,000 square feet of showrooms over two floors and on site parking.

At The Auction Centre we conduct quarterly Fine Art auctions, with high quality items sourced mainly from estates throughout East Anglia.  These sales include Paintings, Jewellery, Silver, Miniatures, Clocks, Watches, 20th Century Design, Works of Art, Architectural and Fine Furniture.

We also hold regular Antiques and Interiors auctions of up to 1,000 lots throughout the year which include antique and good quality later furniture, silver, pictures, ceramics, jewellery and architectural items.  All of our auctions are conducted live online, with bidders throughout the UK, Europe and America and every lot is photographed.

We offer a full house clearance service and written valuations for the purposes of probate and insurance, from large estates to single items and we are always happy to advise our clients in their own home or at our saleroom.

Covering the whole of East Anglia, we provide a professional, personal and efficient service to both the vendor and the buyer, with the aim of making buying and selling at auction a pleasurable experience.
